Do you have a story you’d like to tell in a compelling and exciting way? Have you ever wanted to try your hand at computer animation? Curious about how computer animated films are made? If “Yes” to any or all of the above, this course is for you! Using Autodesk Maya, the industry standard for computer animation, you’ll be guided through all aspects of computer animated production, introducing you to the processes and techniques that animation studios use to bring stories to life.

Anyone ages 16 and up.


From modeling to rigging to animation and lighting, by the end of the course you will have learned the basics of each of the disciplines that are used to create computer animated stories.


10 afternoon sessions on Thursdays, from 3:00-5:00, starting September 26th and ending December 12th. Dates: 9/26, 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 11/7, 11/14, 11/21, 12/5, 12/12


The camp will be held at Lasso the Moon Studios, located on Raymond Diehl Road across from Outback Steakhouse.


All materials will be provided. We have a lab of new iMacs running Autodesk Maya. This course is designed to be an entry-point into animated filmmaking, so no previous experience is necessary – just a passion for the art of animation and a willingness to step into the role of animator.
